Animal Crossing: Leif Update!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons could not have come at a better time. Here in the UK, I’ve been stuck inside since the 24th March and keeping me sane (sometimes, insane) is Animal Crossing.

Like many of you I’ve been trying to make my island look the best it can – plenty of decoration, nice new bridges and paths to make the place look snazzy. My addiction has led me to join a copious amount of Facebook fan groups, and I keep seeing something being mentioned and that is the event planned for later this month!

But what is this mystery event?? I’ve read a few articles, and we’re pretty confident that it’s going to coincide with the real-life event, Earth Day. Now I didn’t even know what Earth Day was really. Turns out that it’s an event such began back in 1970 to focus on environmentalism and highlight the best parts of our natural world and occurs on the 22nd April every year. I feel I have let David Attenborough down… 25 Simple Ways to Celebrate Earth Day

10 Gluten-Free Must-Haves!

It’s not always easy when you are eating a gluten-free diet. Whether it’s due to being diagnosed with gluten allergies including coeliacs disease or you’ve simply chosen to reduce your gluten intake (such as myself), finding an alternative for cupboard stables can sometimes be a bit tricky.

My partner was diagnosed with coeliacs disease almost 3 years ago, and out of solidarity and support I’ve reduced my gluten intake massively (I do, however, cave in for noodles every now and again). 3 years ago there wasn’t a lot of options on the free from section, but supermarkets are finally catching on that people have gluten-free/vegan etc. diets!

Here’s a list of my 10 favourite must-have gluten-free products we always buy in our weekly shop. I should note I am in the UK, so the supermarkets I get these from may not be available if you’re outside of the country, sorry about that 😦

4 Large Yorkshire Puddings from The Real Yorkshire Pudding Co.Large Gluten Free Yorkshire Puddings | The Real Yorkshire Pudding ...

Us British love a good Sunday roast! And you can’t have a roast without the blessing that is Yorkshire puddings. This pack of 4 puds (and they are quite large) are so nice that I didn’t even realise that they were GF. They crisp up nicely but still have nice soft bottoms and most importantly can hold a river of gravy. These bad boys can be found in Asda, Morrisons, and Waitrose and usually sell for £2 – but you can often find them on offer for £1.50 🙂

Sue’s Gluten Free Kitchen Egg Custards The Gluten Free Kitchen 2 Egg Custard Tarts

I’m always on the lookout for GF puddings. Whenever I go shopping as see in big letters ‘GLUTEN FREE’ I make a beeline straight for them. These egg custards are absolutely delicious and go perfect with a cuppa. At £2, you can nab these in Waitrose and Sainsbury’s stores. Read More »
